 Reflection #1

The process of the remote learning project has changed my thinking. When I started taking online classes I figured out the importance of knowing the class you are teaching and the methods you use to deliver knowledge but I was an expector of the process, someone part of the audience. Therefore, working on this assignment made me understand at a new level with more depth how to shape an effective online class. Nevertheless, I did not only relate this to online classes (which was part of my personal project since I simulated that I was applying for a job at my own school as an assistant) but to businesses from all types. They all have to deal with online procedures due to the pandemic in the present. This helped me improve my IB profiles of open-minded and inquirer.

Moreover, this is helping me understand business on a deeper level because by organizing and planning a class, I also needed to learn the aspect of human resource planning. When I created my mind map I realized how everything is connected and therefore, everything needs to be in a balance. For example, I could not teach a class without taking in consideration what are the interests and values of my students, which relates to the mind map I created for business where I could not expect someone to work effectively if I did not provide them the correct training and induction process. This is how the content of business made me create a connection with the outside world and also, things that I can connect to personally.

I believe this project is helping me to acquire understanding and experience for future situations where I might have to work in a similar circumstance with technology. Therefore, this will be beneficial because I will have the base and know where I need to start before planning and organizing. Also, this is helping my family and my community because I can share this knowledge with them but at the same time I can make this whole situation nicer and more effective. This is not an usual way of receiving classes, so the exchange of ideas and collaboration must be a priority to make it work. Finally, it could be mentioned that this is challenging me by making me think outside the box and being flexible. I had never planned a class, which makes me understand and value the effort that teachers make throughout my process of education because now I am experiencing what they do by myself. I was quite scared and nervous at the beginning but I never let that stop me, which showed me how far I can go if my determination is over my feeling of doubt.
