Cindy – Journal Entry September 14th, 2019.

During this day, students from tenth and eleventh grade joined to create a global warming strike from La Paz Community School to Brasilito. It was an amazing opportunity to let our community know that we, as future leaders are taking action to give them an example and to show how the reality that we are living in is affecting each and every one of us. At some point in the strike, I could give a brief speech to motivate my friends and classmates to raise our voices and show the world what "kids" can do. Therefore, I can say that I got to improve my leadership skills by being a good communicator and by showing my sensitive side to create an effective impact in the community to get more people change bad habits. It started at 10:30am and ended around 11:30am, we stopped in front of a shop called "Agua y Sal" where cars and people could see us, and everytime they did... someone would honk, give us an applause or a "pura vida" sign with their hands. Finally, it can be mentioned that this activity is of much importance since it is about a global issue that it is going off our hands due to the lack of projects that would reduce its impact.
