Cindy – March 26th, 2020 Journal Entry #14
During this quarantine period I have been helping my mom to make masks due to the low stock market in relation to them. It has been really nice to spend some time with my mom since I do not get the same space when I am in school season. I have been learning how to be more creative thanks to her and my empathy has been strengthening due to the work we are doing by creating masks that people can reuse at an affordable price. Some IB skills that play an essential role in this action is being open minded. I have been opening myself to new activities as well as adapting to them due to the quarantine part. Instead of using too much social media I have let my imagination play for a little bit by cooking new recipes, sewing and trying to write songs to then sing them out loud while playing the guitar and ukulele. Lastly, it can be mentioned how this Covid-19 situation has made me value basic aspects of my life that I take for granted the majority of the time such as riding for 10 minutes my bicycle listening to my favorite song towards the bus stop. Even though is has been a hard time for many countries and my community, it has taught me valuable things such as the importance of appreciation.
