Cindy – November 1st, 2020 Journal Entry #44
For CAS I am in the process of culminating both of my projects. I feel very proud of the things and skills I have learned throughout these projects along with my friends Amanda and Katherine. I feel relieved that I will finish these projects with success since we kept working even on the pandemic. Also, there is someone interested in keeping our project for her CAS activity, which makes me honored and happy that it will keep developing. This is because Youth Taking Action embraces 3 areas that are essential for communities, so if this project keeps working it will be a sign of hope for them. This week I can plan an activity through zoom where Amanda, Katherine and I lead a workout session for us. This will move our project forward because we will be writing journal entries, improving our mental health and showing progress. Indeed, I am maintaining a timeline for both projects. In YTA we do weekly planning activities for the 3 of us and even for the community of ChirripĆ³ such as the therapy session held in the past few weeks. In the case of the cultural exchange, Amanda and I have kept constant communication and planning to organize our bake sales for the fundraise of it. We are going to make our bake sale this upcoming week. We keep our timeline weekly, to plan or lead an activity so that we take advantage of our time to progress in our CAS projects. The best thing I am doing about my project of YTA is that I am taking a space to create activities that are addressed to my mental health which is important due to the stressful environment created by the pandemic. On the side of the cultural exchange, the greatest thing is that Amanda and I are getting the money to do the trip by ourselves because we really want to achieve our goal in order to fulfill our idea that we can achieve it even without donations and just our hard work and creativity.
