Cindy – October 2020 Journal Entry #40

A few days ago I reunited with Amanda to prepare empanadas to see if it was an effective option for a "bake sale". Even though we were focusing on the size and quality of products included, we had to figure out the revenue and profit of it. We concluded that the price should be in between 1,500 colones and 1,000 colones and that a promotion should be included to increase our sales. I am super proud of how well we are managing the fundraise for our cultural exchange by including business content in the process. Some obstacles that we had were deciding whether to include meat in our empanadas to increase their quality but price as well, or sticking to our initial plan of cheese and beans at a lower price. We had to put into practice our IB skills of open-minded and inquirers in order to wok through it. A great skill to highlight is the constant communication that we have which is reflected in the results.
