Cindy – October 2020, Journal Entry #42

These past few days I have been dealing with a lot of school stress and realized that I have not been giving myself some time to relax and to enjoy my hobbies without thinking about school. In other words, I have not been aware of what is happenning around me by being in this bubble of virtual school. Therefore, I decided to spend some time learning how to cook a traditional dessert from my home country, Nicaragua. The recipe I learned was to make a dessert named "buñuelos" which is made of cheese and "yuca". Besides this you need to make a syrup that combines with the salty flavor of the "buñuelos", creating the perfect combination. Some skills I had to put into practice was being balanced and inquired, since I had to adapt my schedule to these space where I could have some personal time. Some challenges along the way were time and doing it alone. I was cooking and preparing the mass for 2 hours and a half including the tie of cooking them. Since I had to do assignments I had to organize my time to be able to do this recipe, yet everything was successful and I ended up having a snack while working on tasks.
