There is truth in the quote that states that the only certainty in life is change. I believe that my projects “Youth Taking Action” and the one about the peruvian tribe have trained me to be prepared for the uncertainties they hold. Firstly, “Youth Taking Action” is a project that has been stable, yet there has not been much movement from it because me and my team were working mostly on getting donations for a nursing home in Santa Cruz. We had planned the day and had volunteers to go with us but unfortunately, Covid-19 started to spread out in our country which was going to put us at risk from getting the virus. Therefore, we had to cancel our plan of going and even a community clean-up that was planned to be done on march 21st. In other words, some uncertainties that we are facing right now are when we are going to be able to do these projects and if we will have to change it. Whilst, for my peruvian tribe project we are facing some risks of not getting the money on time due to the closing of borders in Costa Rica which is going to put the state into a recession, affecting the economic aspect at a national level which means that people will not be in the position of giving money away for projects. Also, we are working hard to get more people to go with us on this trip since the transportation would be cheaper there due to the fact that the amount that needs to be paid will be distributed between the individuals that go with us. I do believe we are ready for these obstacles because we have learned how to be flexible, for example if we need to cancel the nursing home volunteering we will just give them the donations packed and find a different activity such as giving a social talk to people about how to prevent viruses such as Covid-19. Also, if we do not have the money on time to go to Perú in August we will manage to change the date and go in December. We will also be doing bake sales to not only rely economically on others for the project. In a more detailed form, we will wait until we get back to school and have a meeting during lunch to decide if we should keep doing the projects that we were suppose to do during this trimester or not, and if not we will start planning and organizing projects were the number of volunteers or donations are not a threat such as planting trees or doing a beach clean-up as the 3 members of the project, relying on our own effort and not counting with the presence or contribution of certain people in order to make it work until the whole idea of the virus goes away. For the peruvian tribe project, we will keep looking for options of where to stay in order to make the trip cheaper and affordable for others, because as mentioned before the economy won’t be at a stable point.
