Motivation is a component that’s extremely important for CAS. We can feel hopeless at times, feel like our project isn’t going smoothly, but it’s important not to give up and persevere through the struggles. A way of doing this is maintaining motivation levels high but that isn’t always easy. You need a desire to make a change in your community and impact it in positive ways.
I feel most energized and motivated when I’m in the CAS period at school. I’m able to get work and stay focused. I need to improve working on my projects outside of school, it can sometimes be hard to remember that I have these projects pending and that I need to work on them which is why I created a schedule at home that I now follow. This generates effective work strategies that also make me focused and able to get objectives done.
Recently a new idea for a project came up where I can get kids from the school involved and playing. It’s a project collaboration between my classmates Noah, Jack, and I and our plan are to launch an after-school American Football club where we play a scrimmage Football game. This idea would be free for anyone to join and is purely for fun, to enjoy, and connect with other kids through sports. We still need to talk to the principal and come up with COVID-19 protocols where everyone is safe.
