How Communication and Research skills have developed:
Communication: I’ve been using communication in many different ways whether it’s through emails, texts, calls, or in-person conversations. I’ve needed to write a lot of emails to contacts in Canada that might have sources for the computers that get donated. I’ve used calls as a way of communication too, I talked to a person (Karalee) that used to be connected to Rotary in Canada, in which they bring together businesses to provide humanitarian services. This is a good option for me since no other schools have gotten back to me other than Karalee.
Communication is a skill that every person needs to be able to have a clear conversation with someone else. For me personally, it’s improved my understanding in certain classes. Communication sometimes means checking for understanding which is something I’ve done in many of my classes when I don’t understand a topic.
Research: This is something I’ve done a lot of and actually required a lot for my project to succeed. I used this skill when looking for Canadian schools that could help me out with donating technology and when searching for a school to help out here in Costa Rica. Some research went into Costa Rica and how Covid-19 has affected its economy and living conditions, which is how the main idea for this project came about. Research has been essential and is what determines the next steps for my project.
This has actually helped with research in other classes, I’ve noticed that especially in business class. Whenever we go over a presentation that Ms. Amy is teaching and a word that I don’t understand comes up, I research it to the point where I understand. I believe it’s made me go more profound with my research which has a positive impact on my classes.
