First Journal Entry!

For my first journal entry, I'm going to go into more detail about my new CAS project. So far, we've been making a lot of progress with the garden and everything is going well. All of the planters have now been finished and almost all of them are filled with dirt, meaning that they're almost ready for the plants. A local gardener that I'm working with on this project (his name is Guillermo) is going to teach me how to plant all of the produce that we're going to use and how to take care of it. Luckily, him and some other workers come to my house often so I get to meet with them about the project a couple of times a week. Once we get to that step, I can completely take over from there and maintain the garden by myself. I'm very excited about this! :). Also, my dad and I have been working on a design for the stand that the produce will go out on, and I plan on going out soon to get all of the materials I need for it. From there, I will build the stand (with my dad's help), paint it, and set it out in front of my house. We're also trying to think of a way to make it so that it won't get stolen, but that is yet to be determined. I predict that all of these steps will take a few more weeks, but it depends on what happens with the rainy season (which is currently a bit of a challenge for this project). I plan to take pictures and write journal entries as I complete each of these steps, which is how I will create evidence of my work. After that, the produce stand will be ready! Then I will work on maintaining the garden and looking for ways to improve it. Overall, I really like this project and I think it will be very helpful for the community.
