How to celebrate our seniors?

During this time when we are not able to do our traditional closing activities with our seniors to send them off to the world, we created a new tradition. We traveled by bus to each of their houses and serenaded them with the La Paz School song. Then we did a flash mob along with leaving a life sized poster of congratulations for the outside of their houses. This was so that everyone in their neighborhood would know that a graduate lived there! This was an emotional day. We hadn't been together as a staff for 7 weeks. We were saying goodbye to our seniors one by one. It was a time for tears. It was a time for overwhelming joy to see them again. It was a time for remembering our time together. It was a time to reflect on the years past that also had their special memories. It was a time to celebrate life and rites of passage. I am so happy that we had the chance to do this and celebrate our seniors.
