What challenges did you encounter during this phase of your project?
– Some challenges I have encountered during this phase of my project are; finding the right recipe to base mine off of, having time to do the actual baking aspect of it, and figuring out a way to make a batch without wasting cake or creating errors in the amounts.
Are you surprised by what you have discovered so far? Why or why not?
– I am a little surprised by what I found with my first trial, when I was reading over the recipe it sounded super interesting and I expected a better outcome than I got. It was a new technique that on paper was perfect, but when put into action, was not. I would be interested to try this recipe again sometime and see if something changes.
What would you do differently if you were to do it over again?
– If I were going to do one thing differently I would definitely not try making four batches at the same time, it was a little hectic, and I believe that is one of the reasons it didn’t turn out great. I would also not have made a completely new recipe on my first try, I would have started with one that I have used before.
What are your next steps? What do you hope to accomplish?
– My next steps are to plan out the recipe I will use for my next trial, and also decide on any modifications I would want to make. I hope that I can accomplish my goal of creating a perfect recipe. It is going to take some time though!!
What support do you need from us during this phase of the project?
– The support I will need from teachers during this phase of my project is allowing me to go home to my house during the LEEP class on Thursdays so that I can have time to bake.

Good reflection. Even thinking about making 4 batches at the same time sounds a bit hectic. I look forward to hearing how your next batch goes after you come back from Colorado. You can definitely leave school on Thursdays to go and bake!
