Katherine- Journal Entry August 17 th 2019

We volunteered in a castration campaign, in which the objective was to operate many low-income animals and avoid people abandoning dogs or cats because of the overpopulation of these animals, I helped cleaning and taking care of the animals after the operation until they woke up and could go home. During these experience I was able to apply being Caring from the IB Learner Profile to be able to empathize with our nature and the animals that are part of it. I have more knowledge about the overpopulation that causes not to operate an animal and how much they suffer from being abandoned. One obstacle was not knowing how to cut animal nails but the veterinarian taught us and we could achieve it. We made a little change in our community but a big one in each of this animals life.
