During this week I was able to start my Human Resource project. I started by doing some research of how I could help an organization during this situation of coronavirus. I decided to incorporate my personal interest to this project, which is teaching. Because of this interest I decided to help students from second grade from La Paz Community with their difficulties with english class, giving online tutoring class and helping them with their english homework. They are learning their second language (english) and need extra help with their assignments, since through online classes makes it harder for them to understand the teacher during the class period.
Throughout the beginning of this new project, I had to go through the process that a Human Resource manager has to be in charge of when a person applies for a job. In this case I was the person applying for the job, so I had to complete different requirements in order to be hired. Some requirements that a Human Resource Manager is in charge of reviewing, are the cover letter, an interview from the candidate, and the information of the person in general. Because of this I had to create my own cover letter in which I developed my writing skill, discovered my weaknesses and strengths and how I could improve my weaknesses and the way in which my strengths could help me in this job. As well the interview I went through gave me more experience for future job interviews and developed my skill of communication, since I had to maintain respectful and clear throughout the interview.
On the other hand this process lets a company identify the correct candidates. Since by reviewing their cover letter, resume and making an interview to the individual the Human Resource Manager is able to discover if the person applying has the correct traits for the job. As well he is able to identify how much experience the candidate has, and how he can contribute to the company. A Human Resource manager can successfully plan for increases in hiring or decreases by analyzing the needs of the company and reviewing the profile of each individual of the company and the people applying to see how each individual contributes or not to the company.
This project is making me be more open minded to new experiences and new opportunities. As well as preparing me for the future, since now I have a better understanding of the process of application in order to get a job in a company. On the other hand through this project I'm able to help kids that may feel frustrated sometimes for not being able to understand the content of their classes, and by having me as a tutor I 'm able to support them and show them that although we are going through this situation they have someone that can help them with any homework and bring them support that the may not be able to have at home.
