Update: Making Progress in the Garden
Making Progress in the Garden
This journal entry is dedicated to talking about all of the great things that have been going on within my project. Currently, everything is going very well. As you can see in the picture, the cherry tomatoes are almost fully grown and the regular tomatoes are also growing. Before, we were struggling because a lot of these plants were dying, but now this is no longer a problem. I think that the problem we had was that we had too many plants that were too close together. Now that we got rid of the ones that were dying, they are doing much better now. Our carrots and radishes are also doing well but we can't check up on them much because they grow underground and we don't want to risk anything by checking on them.
Another update: we got new plants! We bought seeds to grow arugula, kale, and basil. We've planted them in small planters and so far everything is growing well, but they aren't very big yet. The next steps with these new plants are to make sure that we take care of them diligently so we can avoid the problem that we had last time where a lot of our plants were dying. I'm going to meet with the gardener that I work with soon so that I can learn more about these plants and how to take care of them, because every kind of plant needs to be taken care of differently. This can ensure that they grow to their full potential. I also want to look into more places where we can directly donate our produce, because there are many places that are in need of donations that we can help. I also think that it's a safer idea to directly donate it rather than setting up a stand to avoid exposing anyone to COVID-19. Overall, I would say that everything is going very well and I am excited to implement the plans that I have.
