Marko and I had a great discussion about stakeholders yesterday - we discussed why businesses use this tool - especially managers that need to communicate to multiple stakeholders and stakeholder groups about different decisions that they make. We went through some scenarios where businesses or schools might need to use the tool and then Marko made his personal stakeholder map. Identifying, plotting and thinking about how/how often he needs to communicate with his stakeholders took about 30 minutes. His comment after was " pointing out the obvious is beneficial sometimes." Meaning that this is something he does think about in the back of his head when going through his day - but putting it down on paper and discussing it has value.
He also set a goal for his time at La Carolina Lodge.
Marko will add value while he is at La Carolina Lodge without being a hassle by completing all tasks during the day.
This is a SMART goal - but we also talked about attitude and communication while he is there.
We are going to meet next Sunday while I am in Spain and will explore more goals - long term and write mission statements. (10:00am his time and 5:00pm my time in Spain.)
