Update: Night of the arts
Night of the arts
What is your CAS project and how is it helping the community?
My CAS project is to help Elevate put on the end of year production by assisting with some of the logistics and choreographing some dances for it. It's helping the community because we get to help keep the performing arts alive in our community especially after COVID.
What are some interesting aspects of your project that you think people should know about?
We are choreographing some of the dances so I think that it would be interesting and important to share that process. I think it's important to share the theme of the production which is to show the important things in life and despite all of the negative thoughts that one might have especially in our age, you can still learn to love yourself.
What do you need from the community?
We need their support by coming to the show and watching all of the hard work that the kids did to make the production.
Deadlines or pertinent information that the parents can remember.
The show will be on December 4th
Discuss 7 learning outcomes of CAS that are applicable to show the value of your project.
The 7 learning outcomes are important to our project because we have to learn to work collaboratively and dedicate ourselves to teaching these dances every week and helping out with the logistics of the show. There were several challenges that we had to overcome and this is just the beginning of our project where we get to learn about choreographing and teaching every week and the communication behind making these productions happen to later put on a production that is entirely our own. Lastly we recognize the importance of supporting the performing arts in our community especially with these kids where dance is their passion. I believe helping others showcase their hard work and dedication towards something and present our artistic talent for the community to enjoy is just as important as donating to charity.
