Perseverance and commitment

Something I have worked on for the past 18 months is sewing, more specifically I have been working with Good Vibes to help them put on Wicked the musical. I helped backstage during the performance, but I also helped out with costumes. I made Glinda's final dress and the shoes that Nessa wears. This was a super fun project that let me experiment with my sewing since I usually only make clothing for myself. It was a little challenging not being able to constantly try on the skirt and I struggled a little with sizing and had to re-adjust the skirt before the second show, but other than that the costume was a success. This project was really fun since I got to watch the girl who played Glinda wear my dress in front of an audience, it was nice to be able to work on a project like this and see it on stage. I definitely want to work on more projects like this in the future, whether it be costumes for myself or others. This project gave me a lot more respect for people in the entertainment industry because it was a really stressful experience. I had a lot of fun backstage, but we had to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time so it was a very different environment than what I'm used to.
