Planning and initiating CAS Journal Entry

This trimester I want to advance a lot with computers and finding a reliable source that can donate them. However, this process has proved to take time and waiting is necessary which is why I created a new idea that includes being able to get work done here in Costa Rica.

My new idea consists of talking to local businesses around the area and asking if there can be a designated space they can offer to get kids here for free WiFi to use. The main reasons behind this idea are:

• Free WiFi for students to use for school or anything they need.
• Able to show up for online school.
• Using different tools like the internet to learn.

This will be a good project to work on while I wait for responses and set up contacts in Canada, it will still have an impact on making education better during COVID-19.

So far I have a written response that’s asking if any businesses are willing to give up space for a few hours so that these students can come in and learn, while still following Covid rules like wearing a mark and keeping a distance from each other.

I’ve also joined the La Paz yearbook committee that’s in charge of making the school yearbook and customizing it. I will be in charge of taking pictures and making the 11th-grade page since it’s the class I’m in. It’s exciting being able to help out and see how my strengths like creative writing will do.
