Planting Trees and Plaza Cleanup in Potrero

Last Wednesday (September 11th) the 11th grade class – led by Cindy, Amanda, and Kati – took a mini field trip to Potrero to support their CAS project, Green Power. We split up into two groups, one group planted trees at Playa Penca, while the other group (the one I was in) helped clean up downtown Potrero. This could not be done without all the help we received from Asada Potrero, Reciclando Potrero and Bahía del Sol, who provided us with the resources and assistance to accomplish these tasks. It was a really fulfilling experience to get to do this for my community, and it was also fun to do it with my class. We managed to get a lot done with the time that we had and learned a lot along the way.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Work collaboratively with others
  • Engage with issues of global importance
