Running and Reading

This week's discussion is taking on new challenges. Really I feel that is all that I have been doing the last few weeks. But this weekend I thought that I needed a break from looking at a screen and thinking about how to engage the class. So I read a the book Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. I thought it was a good compromise between not working but also getting some business information from a memoir about one of the most well known companies in the world. The book was amazing and inspired me to continue working hard and motivating other to do the same. It was so good that I couldn't put it down and I finished it in one day. Because of that I had to think of how to get some exercise while reading. So I ran in the pool while reading for about an hour. It was the best innovative idea that I could think of while reading. That is what this project is about, trying to find ways that students can be fully engaged in a project that they want to do. And helping them find the energy to do it with the time that they have. I look forward to this week's classes and to see the feedback that I receive on communication and motivation. I will write about that next week.
