September 27th 2020 – Julie CAS Journal Entry

What did you do to work on your project?

So far what I have done to work on my CAS projects, is first for Yearbook we have created a new team and have created a WhatsApp group for the We still need to pick a day of the week for us all to meet so we can start with the project. For the IUD project there is a small campaign due to Covid next week so Jimena and I have been  helping to set up with that. Tomorrow afternoon I am going over to Geneva’s to count inventory and get prepared for the campaign.

How did you move it forward?

I have moved them forward by creating our yearbook group and getting the word out about our project. Then for the IUD project when have moved forward by preparing for this new campaign in Nosaura.

How hard is it to do that during this time?

Both projects are more difficult as for the yearbook it is hard since we aren’t at school so we can’t meet with the team face to face or make sure everyone is aware of the project. For the IUD project it is hard during this time as we can only have very limited people attend the campaigns and we have to use many more precautions.

How are you adapting to the online school situation?

I am adapting to the online school situation by making sure I follow the schedule and try to act like we are in normal classes, just from my house. I also try to get outside of my house or even just my room to make sure I am still staying active and social.

What opportunities have been created for you and how are you embracing being at home instead of at school?

An opportunity that I’ve been given throughout the course of Corona is that I’ve been able to spend more time with my family since I spend almost everyday in my house.

What threats have come up? How are you dealing with them?

Some threats that have come up due to Corona are that I can’t physically see my teachers or classmates, which means its harder to ask questions and socialize during school hours.

What tactics are you taking to make sure that these do not bog you down and slow your progress?

I am making sure to hang out with my friends as much as possible during my free time to be able to socialize and also trying to ask as many questions in zoom that I have to not get confused doing homework or individual work.
