Service provided for wedding

During the break on August 6th my uncle Chase got married. Me and my uncle have always been close as he was very young when I was born, he’s kind of like an older brother to me. He wanted me to be in the actual wedding and participate as one of his groomsmen, so I did. This was huge to me and I wanted to return the favour to him for giving me that pleasure.

Myself along with the other groomsmen set up the wedding, we put down chairs where they needed to be, set up the wedding ceremony, added all sorts of decorations to make the wedding look pretty, made sure the sound to speakers were functioning correctly and more. The whole day I wanted to help him and make the wedding as smooth as possible for him by also providing babysitting to all the kids in my family and other children at the wedding.

This whole experience with the wedding connects to the IB learner profile trait of Caring as I wanted the wedding to be as great as possible for my uncle by making it easy for him. I would connect this to the first Learner Outcome as I believe I have gained a new skill or perhaps it could be considered a personal trait, as I get older I’m starting to realise a lot more things that I might not have cared when I was younger. Seeing my uncle enjoying one of the best nights of his lives made me feel more grateful for all the things my family has done, and that there made me realise I have to be giving back to them more.
