Starting my teacher journey

The next reflection will deliver an insight perspective on my experience from this week. When I was choosing my interview questions I thought of what were the best ones to benefit me along my training. After the interview, I did learn a lot from Ms. Amy. The most outstanding aspect was the type of training Ms. Amy thought I could use it on this journey. Being myself is going to be the most effective training while being with Jime. 

First off, the type of training I will need for this job is on the job training. I´ve never worked with this class in the past. I barely know information about sixth graders. As a matter of fact, my skills when working with sixth graders aren’t as developed with first to 4th graders. On this journey, I´m learning by doing. It helps to understand the class more. And this type of training is quick to get and manage. I´m looking forward to working with Jime. 

As risk takers, we are taking on new challenges. Challenges that we´ve never been put on before. We´re also embodying the IB profile of thinkers. It’s the time to explore our strengths and areas of growth And being principled takes a big role when wrestling with Covid-19. I´ ve undertaken the challenge of teaching a sixth grader with a low level of english. By planning and initiating an activity, our strengths are growing. Understanding how to treat and teach a sixth grader reflects on my empathy level. However, online classes are not easy. Teaching online classes makes your level of thinking deepen as a teacher. 

This past Tuesday, I had the pleasure to video call Jime for the first time. I was really nervous. I had no idea how she was going to feel. To start off, I mentioned facts about me. Which drove to explaining the reason I was doing it. While explaining the reason, I told her my story at La Paz since being in kindergarten till now. Her reaction was unexpected. She wasn’t expecting that fact of me. Likewise, I see myself creating an effective communication with her towards the end of the trimester.
