Stacy – Journal Entry September 5, 2019 ¨First Meeting of S.S.S¨

Students Sponsoring Students is a powerful group of students who seek to motivate and support the scholarship program by bringing the community together. Today we had the first SSS meeting of the year! I was excited to know about the new SSS 2019-2020 group. Of course, I was also nervous because I didn’t know how to lead a group with Cata. However, the meeting was a success and I got to know everyone. I learned 3 things from this first meeting; having respect, working efficiently and try to develop an effective communication with the group and my partner, Cata. I didn’t have many expectations for it, however, I was expecting it to be united and organized… Therefore, I’m looking forward to organize a successful event that the community can enjoy. My personal growth is still developing. Cata and I can be described as risk-takers. Because we went forward, planned and initiated a new beginning of SSS. Not everyone can stand in front of a group of mixed students and lead an event.
