Summer Activity

The way I stayed active this summer was by swimming at the school in the mornings and sometimes in the afternoon. I didn't get to swim as much as I planned to this summer but I was still able to be active the times I did swim. For me, swimming has become a very important part of my life, it has become a therapeutic activity for me, it helps zone out of the world around me and helps me focus on myself for 1 whole hour. Throughout my break I focused on improving my form, not only by swimming at the pool but also by watching videos of professional swimmers swimming and later trying to apply what I learned to my form. I also watched a lot of the Olympics swimming competitions to see the techniques that olympic summers use. Even if I didn't swim as much as usual this summer I still enjoyed the days I did. Like I said before, swimming has become a therapeutic activity for me and having the opportunity to go into the pool and swim for a while really helped me to enjoy being active this summer and it also helped me feel more productive throughout the rest of the day. I would connect this activity to learning outcome number four because when I swim I like to always give it my all, and when I do that I am actively engaging myself in the activity. I would connect this activity to the Reflective trait since swimming is pretty much the only physical activity that helps me reflect and focus on myself while actually doing it.
