Summer Creativity

This summer I stayed creative by doing some upgrades to my old paintings. Back in February I finished a Venice painting I had been working on for 7 months, I thought I was done with it but after having it at home and looking at it every day in my bedroom, I realised I wasn't really satisfied with the final result, so I decided to go back to it and give it some retouches to make it look more realistic. I painted some nicer windows with more texture in the building in the foreground and added another human silhouette in one of the windows from one of the background buildings. After finishing this painting I found out I wasn’t satisfied with my recent Greece painting either so I gave it an upgrade as well and made it look more alive. I decided to add some more color to it since it had too much white. I did this by adding some more pink flowers around the white houses and I also added a small cruise ship in the background so the ocean didn't look too empty. I also decided to add some clouds in the sky since I didn't feel like it had enough detail. Lastly I decided to start a new painting but I ended up realizing I didn't like the idea I had in mind, sadly I had to give up on the painting because I ran out of paint. After working on these paintings I realized that a painting can take you a long time to finish and that there's always space for more detail. It also showed me that I should always make sure I like what I'm painting and that I'm not just trying to get my work done fast. Doing this made me feel satisfied with my work. The learning outcome I would connect these activities to is learning outcome number one since I put my artistic abilities to test when coming up with more ideas for detail when trying to improve my artwork. I would connect these activities to the Thinkers trait since I used my creative thinking skills to improve my artwork with new ideas and when my new painting.
