Teaching & Training Center Completed

“I must rest here a moment, even if all the orcs ever spawned are after us.” - Gandalf

Sometimes you just need a place to rest and relax in a busy and dangerous world. We are very excited to announce the Growing A Future Training Center has been completed and ready for the K-12 students and community members. As part of the Oregon Department of Education Grant, this important aspect of the School Farm program will allow year-round hands-on teaching and training opportunities and a weather protected workroom for volunteers and visitors. Provided by Oregon's very own Pacific Yurts (Cottage Grove), the 20' diameter center sits on a concrete slab with the snow/wind and insulation packages, four windows, two doors and a skylight. It is built to last and will be a vital part of all of our programs. We've also added a robust set of solar panels and batteries to power lights, projectors (even a heater) and construction equipment as needed.

"Faithless is he who says farewell when the road darkens." - Gimli

Through rain of winter, heat of summer and the smoke of the forests burning nearby, none left us during the building of this training center. Our sincere thanks to all the community volunteers who donated their skills and time to make this it a reality for the students and teachers (Charlie, Chris, Dennis, Tom, Brad, Rich & Trey).
