Update
On Saturday September 25th we met with our mentor Gaby for lunch to sort out the details of our project. She told us that she wanted to put on an end of the year production and if we would help her with that instead of doing one at the beginning of next year. We agreed on that and started deciding the numbers we would choreograph. Both her, Chanelle and Cinthia who are other dance teachers who work at our studio are choreographing for the show as well. I am planning to choreograph two solos. The first solo is for a girl named Luna. She is in the teens class but came into the year late and doesn't have the opportunity to learn a solo. I plan to work with her to give her or for the show. The second solo is for a girl named Emily. She is in the mini company class and is one of the scholarship students at the dance studio. The goal for the solo that I will give her is to help her develop her confidence and performance skills. Alexa is going to do a small group with the minis and Ava is going to do a group with the juniors. On top of this the three of us are planning on choreographing a trio together to perform in the show. We also discussed the performance space. The plan is to set up a stage in the parking lot. There will be 5 different stages, one big one in the front and 4 smaller ones on the sides. Each dance will incorporate the stages in a different way to make an engaging show.
