What did I accomplish Journal Entry

My CAS experience was great this trimester, I started really strong in the first half and was getting in touch with the director, scouting for a place where the students could stay, creating schedules for myself, and working with the YearBook and gathering pictures. The number of hours I spent in the second half of the trimester went down, part this was because work from other classes began piling on me which was stressful and I needed better time management. That is the main reason I created a schedule in the first place.

During the final weeks, I got sick and this caused me to miss an entire week of school. During that week I did very badly with school and could have made more of an effort with finishing the work I had pending. This resulted in me having to finish all the work in the next week, and the addition of more tests and projects just put me into a deeper hole. The one week I missed and procrastinated doing work from home caused me to be stressed and put me into a position where I needed to get other work done first. This meant I didn’t work as much as I desired on my CAS projects.

This is a learning lesson for me since it taught me a skill that I lack which is time managing. The schedules didn’t necessarily help as much as I intended and I realized that change will come more from within myself.

My plan for making up the lost time in CAS is to work on it a good amount during the three-week break and try to set myself up best for the coming trimester so that I can finalize by December.
