Update: What have I accomplished this trimester?
What have I accomplished this trimester?
Throughout the course of this trimester, we have accomplished a variety of things that help us move forward with our project. We started by brainstorming ideas of how we could fundraise with the covid situation going on. We also made a timeline plan of how our trimester would look but unforgenetly for one of our ideas which was babysitting failed and this affected part of our project fundraising process. Then, we brainstormed about the risk that we might have from our project. We came to the conclusion that our project will always have a big risk that in some aspects we can control and others we can. We came up with an estimate of a budget of $7,000. As well, we organized some dress-down days that were successful with small amounts of money and got us a total of $60. Further, we had some effective communication with our other teammate Diego and also with Yamila and Emmanuel. We let the two students know about our idea so they had some knowledge of it. We came up with some ideas on how he could collaborate with the project from another country. This plan didn't go as well because it was very difficult for him to put his ideas into action. We had a very successful meeting at Tacos and Beer with Abby. She helps us obtained Boston contacts that helped us communicate effectively with the Brookline highschool. We emailed some teachers that gave us some upsetting news that we had a low percentage of going there due to the restriction in their state. This was very hard for us because we had already communicated with the students that we were are taking. Abby also talked about previous experiences with the project that went well and that could've been better. After this, we had the motivation to start our gofundme and now we are working on it. We have created a video that will go on the gofundme and will let the donors know why we need the money. After it is complete we will be uploading it on all possible platforms that will hopefully help us reach our budget goal. All through the trimester, we had to deal with our biggest challenge which was COVID 19. We had many restrictions that prevent us from doing many of this for this project. This trimester I developed the strength of a decision-maker because we had to make many difficult decisions that had to be done and that could go well or bad. I have also improved on my communication skills due to the communication we had to have with our other team members in Thailand. During this trimester we only spent 3 days a week on our project which I think wasn't enough. I consider that we should all put more of our part in our project next trimester.
