Throughout my CAS experience, I have learned a lot of new things, especially from my mistakes. I used to have a hard time working with others and using our skills to make the best possible team, but this is a skill that I have gained through both of my CAS projects. With my project at Abriendo Mentes, I observed all the abilities that the teachers had and used my ability to work well with kids, and we made a great team because of it. In my current project with the garden, I am collaborating with local gardeners who have lots of expertise in the area of gardening. With the things that I have learned from them, I am able to maintain the garden effectively. We all recognize areas that we work well in and work together, and the garden is turning out great so far. This shows that throughout my CAS experience, I have learned a lot about the importance of collaboration and how it can make a team so much stronger. I've also learned that when you make mistakes, working in a team helps you get back to where you need to be. For example, recently my mom and I saw that a few of our plants were wilting, and we weren't sure of what to do. I realized that even though we didn't know the answer, someone I was working with did know and could help us. After talking with the gardener I work with, we found out what was wrong and were able to fix it. Overall, even if we make mistakes, we're all stronger when we work as a team. We can use our strengths and combine them to learn new things and work at our full potential. This is an important lesson that I've learned and there's still a lot that I can and will learn throughout my project, but I'm excited for it!
