“Place” is all about making your product or service available to customers where and when they want it. You’ve already nailed down the physical location, so now let’s think about how and where your product/service can be accessed and how easy it is for customers to use it once they have it.
First, revisit your audience and their demographics. You need to know who you are targeting.
Today, you’re going to create a customer journey map showing how your customer will enjoy your project. Use the template, start by placing your project name at the top. Then fill in the rest with short ideas and phrases. The questions below will help guide you.
Awareness Stage
How will people in the community find out about your product/service? (e.g., social media, flyers, word of mouth)
Are there any events or partnerships that can help spread the word?
Consideration Stage
What will potential users think about before deciding to use your product/service? (e.g., cost, accessibility, benefits)
How will you provide the info they need to make a decision?
What resources or content will you offer? (e.g., FAQs, testimonials, demos)
Purchase/Access Stage
How can they access it? (e.g., online, in-person)
What steps do they need to take to complete the purchase/access process?
Is the process easy and straightforward? (If not, make it easier!)
Are there any potential barriers to access?
Usage Stage
How and where will people use your product/service? (e.g., at home, in public spaces)
What instructions or support do they need to use it effectively?
How often do you expect them to use it? Is it a one-time use or recurring?
Post-Use Stage
Is there any follow-up or aftercare needed after people use your product/service? (e.g., maintenance, customer support)
How will you encourage ongoing engagement and loyalty?
Feedback Stage
How will you gather feedback from users about their experience? (e.g., surveys, feedback forms, direct interviews)
What processes will you put in place to act on the feedback received?
Once you’re done with your map, post it on the path!
