Place is all about where and how your product or service is available. For your project, it’s super important to make sure that what you’re offering is in the right spot to really help your community.

Exploration

• Choose three services or products in your town to investigate:
  • McDonald’s
  • Oreo Cookies
  • Nike Air Force 1
  • Nail salon
  • Grocery store
• Find and study each product or service, taking notes based on these questions:
  • Where is it located?
  • What is around it? Who are their neighbors?
  • Do the neighbors share similar vibes or goals?
  • Who are their customers?
  • Is it easy to get to or access?
  • Can you spot it easily?
  • Who delivers it? Is it their own or is someone else helping them share it with their customers?
• Review your notes and reflect, posting your reflection on the path:
  • What are three key insights you gained about why businesses place their products or services in specific areas?
  • How do you think the location of a product or service affects its success or failure?
