In this project, and in your life in general, you’re going to be receiving feedback from leaders, parents, teachers, and even friends. It’s super important to know how to handle it right.

Choose one of these options to get some insight on handling feedback:
Read the article or the shorter summary on suggestions for receiving feedback.
Interview 3 adults you trust about their tips on receiving feedback.
Think about how you feel when you get feedback. It probably feels different in different moments because we care about things differently. Look at the situations in the worksheet and use the feelings wheel from a previous path to write down how you would feel. Don’t forget to add your own experiences with feedback in the first column.
Reframing Practice
Reframing is about changing how you think about something to see it in a more positive light. When you get feedback, especially if it’s negative, it can feel pretty discouraging. Reframing helps you focus on the helpful parts of feedback and how it can make you better.
Try to see the feedback as constructive and not personal.
Feel your feelings but don’t get stuck there.
Find the advice or suggestions in the feedback.
Make an action plan.
Practice reframing using the 3rd column of the worksheet. Turn the feedback into a positive, growth-focused statement.
Put it to Work
For the next week, write down any feedback you get from teachers, friends, bosses, etc.
Write a journal entry or make a video about how you felt, processed, and dealt with the feedback.
Share your journal or video entry on the path.
