I always feel really good after I work out. I also notice that I tend to focus better and am more confident in myself. I exercise for at least thirty minutes, (often forty five minutes to two hours), every day on a treadmill while watching an episode or two of a TV show. Watching something motivates me to not end my exercise session early due to mental boredom.
However, while I get plenty of cardio exercise daily, I do not get resistance/strength exercise very often. The times I do typically involves lifting my dog, (she is around fifty pounds). The main reason I lift my dog is because I find it fun, not to exercise. I have always had the desire to have a strong upper body and better posture, (even when my mind is not on my posture). Resistance/strength exercise could help me accomplish both of these goals; however, I have never found the motivation to consistently exercise in that way.
I do find it both entertaining and fun to lift my dog up into the air and she doesn’t seem to mind too badly, so I will use that as a motivation to exercise my upper body and build strength more consistently. Specifically, I will do squats with my fifty pound dog in my arms, (with good posture), for at least thirty minutes every day. I can make time for this exercise right after I finish cardio exercise on my treadmill but before I shower. I should be able to have sufficient motivation and means to stick to my plan, so I will experiment with this plan this week to see how this all works out in practice.

Our experiences with exercise are very similar! I usually feel very focused as well after exercising, and more recently when I do exercise it’s on the treadmill (also while watching something like you said, it’s hard to keep going while staring at a wall). I also have almost never done real strength or resistance training, and your plan to fix that is very creative, I hope it goes well!
