Our Vision for This Year

In 2025, WIP participated in an 8-month strategic planning process, engaging with our team and many community stakeholders, including clients, donors, non-profit partners and peers, to develop a three-year road map for a strong, agile organization built to grow. The resulting strategic plan was adopted by our Board of Directors in January. Among other goals identified in the plan, I am currently focused on

  1. Continuing to build service capacity by hiring a new attorney (to replace our 2025 hire who moved out-of-state) and implementing our new volunteer attorney training program
  2. Responding to extensive client and community member anxiety about ICE operations by changing the delivery and content of our community education, e.g., providing smaller, more frequent, semi-private presentations on knowing your rights and making emergency preparedness plans
  3. Growing our back office and adopting the policies and procedures needed to ensure a sustainable operation, with a focus on HR and fundraising.
