Sit Spot Meditation

I chose to sit outside in my backyard. When sitting out there for a couple of minutes, I observed how the air smelled like wet grass and how the sun felt quite hot on my neck. From those observations, I could infer that the sprinklers had just been on since when they turn on, the air usually smells like wet grass. I could also infer that the day was going to be a hot one because it was only early morning and the sun already felt hot. I felt content and connected with myself, though the longer I sat out there the more uncomfortable I became in the heat. My action was that after my meditation I was going to go in and get some water because I noticed that I was a little thirsty. I then connected that action to the wet grass and how the grass probably needed a “drink of water” today too. Then my question was: how many times does the grass get watered each month?

That’s a really interesting question that you got from connecting what you got from your five senses.
