The Basic Information

Don’t trap water, or any liquid for that matter, in a plastic or glass container! Take the cap off – collect them and turn them into your nearest recycling center.
Different kinds of plastic can degrade at different times, but the average time for a plastic bottle to completely degrade is at least 450 years. It can even take some bottles 1000 years to biodegrade! That’s a long time for even the smallest bottle.
The sun, at 4.6 billion years old, predates all the other bodies in our solar system. But it turns out that much of the water we swim in and drink here on Earth is even older. Water is recycled. We may be drinking water that the dinosaurs bathed in. There is a limited amount of water on our planet and we need to conserve it, and protect it. We need to keep the water in the cycle. So join in and capture the caps from all containers with liquids in them. Simply dispose of the container and the cap separately to allow all liquid to evaporate back into the water cycle.
