Word is travelling as more mowanas are pasted

As of July 2024, our small group here at Mowana Rehabilitation Project have pasted 26 trees with the concoction.

• 18 of these were severely damaged and are being followed up on weekly, as much as possible, and all are now being left alone by the elephants
• 8 of these have less severe damage and cannot be followed as closely due to human limitations of such a small project

When I went into a shop in Shakawe (more than 60km away from our project base) to get some water, I was somehow recognized and greeted by local children who immediately wanted to share with me their knowledge of a damaged Mowana that needed help. This experience has great significance because of the distance this village is from the region I'm working in. I've never spoken at the local school in this area and none of the Mowanas in the project are anywhere nearby this region. I cannot understand how these kids would know to approach me and yet they did!
