ATLs JE

ATLs chosen: Thinking & communication    How have you used one of the above ATLs while working on your project? Give examples. For my CAS project with Kenya, I have used a lot of communication and thinking. Planning the Dia de Mascaradas event requires a lot of planning and working together. This past month Kenya and I have been working on the games/ activities we are going to have at the event, what types of food we will be selling, prices for the costume contest and finding people who can help us put the whole event together. We are still using these ATL as we continue to look for chaperones who want to help in stations during the event and as we find students to join our Students Sponsoring Students club to help us with decorations the day of the event.    How has your experience in this area enhanced your ability to learn in other classes or prepared you for life in general? Explain. Thinking and community have taught me how to work more collaboratively with others inside and outside of school. I have learned that communication is very important to work with others in order to remain on the same page and to keep a positive work environment. Thinking has taught me how to get out of my comfort zone and try new things I have always been too scared to try, it has also taught me how to view things from more than one perspective which has helped me become a more empathic person with my friends and people I am close to. These two ATLs together have taught me how to feel more confident when sharing my own ideas with other people and when introducing myself to new people in my life.
