August 30, 2019 – Julie Summer Service Journal Entry

This summer, for my service journal entry, I decided to help Alexa and Sibley with their project because it is very similar to the project I would like to initiate. After showing interest in their project, Sibley contacted me with a job. I called 28 women to survey them about their experience putting in donated IUDs. I asked these women a series of 18 questions about how they are feeling and any comments regarding the IUDs.

Finally, I undertook challenges showing that new skills were learned while contacting these women because one of my weaknesses is communication skills. This shows that it was hard for me to talk to all these women, but I learned how to better my communication skills and practiced talking to people in the community.
