Moving my system
There is a new movement going on in my project that is meant to set it up so when my CAS experience ends my project doesn’t have to. What the idea is that I want to move it from its current location which is my house to the Matapalo school. Why this idea is almost a guarantee success is because La Paz students have already been in contact with the school as well as the coordinator who is helping them have the whole set up (Lindsay) , as well as the fact that my mom and I are close to the school director. Here are the steps that I need to complete in order to accomplish this:
- I emailed Lindsay (image attached down below) and I’m waiting to get a response.
- If everything works out as intended with Lindsay then Noah agreed to help me move it on Tuesday (22nd), I’m not sure what to expect in the moving process I know that it’ll be easy to move the base but I’m sure im gonna have to take out all the gravel from the 2 cylinders of where the plants sit.
- After I move it, I have to draft up a list of how to maintain the system which will help me organize my thoughts. I’m also thinking about how or who is going to take care of the every day maintenance such as running the pump for a certain amount of time as well as feeding the fish.
- Then I have to figure out how im going to keep on designing activities but now that the system is going to be in a public area I can do more activities with the school kids themselves, maybe something similar to what I did with the 5th graders at school.
- I think that the only way to truly have a set up in which the students run it Its gonna take some time of me going regularly to make sure everything is working smoothly so maybe setting up a schedule for myself revolving around what days I should go to check on the system and do work with it.
- After I finish moving it I want to get back to my Zumba women activity, which I am looking forward too because I know it’ll be a new concept for a lot of women and hopefully I will find a crop to grow that will provide a balance in a lot of families diets.
