Doing nice things for others can brighten up the world. Kindness creates a ripple effect—one good deed can inspire another, and before you know it, the whole community feels it. Helping others not only lifts them up, but it can boost your own confidence, mood, and sense of connection too.
Start by reflecting on your community and the things you’re truly grateful for.
Consider questions like:
Use this reflection to create a list of kind actions you could take this week. Aim for ideas that respond to a real need, consider the feelings of others, and are small enough to complete but big enough to matter. Examples might include offering help to a neighbor, leaving a thank-you note, sharing your skills, or doing something thoughtful for someone who might feel overlooked.
Select one idea from your list and turn it into a SMART goal: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound.
Think ahead about any obstacles that could get in the way and how you might overcome them. Record your plan in writing or by video and add to this path.
After completing your act of kindness, take some time to reflect on the experience. Share your thoughts on the path (through a video or written response) and consider the following questions:
