Professional Communication

As a teenager, people don’t always respect your ideas or opinions, so knowing how to communicate like an “adult” is incredibly helpful if you want to be taken seriously. And doing something creative with the information you just learned will help you remember what to do when you get into professional situations.

  • Watch the video about professional and unprofessional communication.
  • After watching the video, choose one of the options:
    • Give a friend from your cohort a call and chat about what you saw.
    • Jot down your thoughts and share them with everyone on the path.

Article

    • Dive into an article about how to be pro in your communication game.
    • Choose a situation from this list or one from your own life.
    • Complete one of the activities and show off what you did on the path.
      • Video: Get a small squad together (up to 4) and act out the scenario. Show the good and not-so-good ways to handle it professionally.
      • Comic Strip: Draw the scenario, making sure to demonstrate both professional and unprofessional behavior.
      • Short Story: Write a 1 page story about your scenario, making sure to demonstrate both professional and unprofessional behavior.
