Where does the Seeker look?

I’m trying to do a little experiment, so I find out how the Seeker finds what I tell it to look for, let’s say a kind of fruit. I don’t know if it looks around clockwise or somehow knows where the closest fruit of that kind is located. Any ideas for how I can find out?
